If you are learning English as an International language, this program is for you!

Start in September, January, March or May!

Become more confident listening, speaking, reading and writing English. Everyone is different, so we offer eight levels of English as a Second Language (ESL) training to choose from.

Learn at your level

If you're a beginning or pre-intermediate student, you will start withÌýlistening and speaking skillsÌýand an introduction to reading comprehension and written composition.

More experienced English language learners willÌýtake moreÌýadvanced courses, to prepare for college and university level programs or to develop professional English skills for the Canadian workplace.

Get a little extra training where you need it the most. OurÌýelective coursesÌýgive you some extra pronunciation and grammar practice when you are in ELD or other college courses.

ELD Help Centre
The ELD Help CentreÌýoffers assistance with your English skills. You can meet one-on-one with an Instructional Assistant (IA). Our friendly IAs can also help you with getting onto D2L (your online course), finding books, computer help and everything and anything to make your experience at Camosun ELD enjoyable!

We suggest that you attend an English Language Development (ELD) information session to understand our program.

English Language requirements

All students need to take an ESL/ELD Assessment

Applicants can also provide:

BC grade 11 or 12

Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT) from the last 2 years

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic from the last two years

Test of English as a Foreign Language IBT (TOEFL) from the last 2 years

ÌýAn ESL course from another BC college

When you apply you will need to submit proofthat you meet the pre-requisites requirements or complete an English Language Placement Assessment.

Tip: Where a letter grade is specified, you must have proof of that grade or higher.
